Hunt Wins Brian Farley Memorial

Sydney based driving instructor and multiple Australian Kart Champion Troy Hunt won the Pro Clubman feature class at the 2nd annual running of the Brian Farley Memorial at Eastern Creek.

Hunt beat a strong 31 kart field in changable conditions to win a trip for two to the Seaworld Nara resort on the Gold Coast.

Even though rain was forecast for the weekend, Saturday was fine but slightly overcast. With the sounds of A1GP and Formula Three in the background, Pro Clubman qualifying got underway.

Once the qualifying dust had settled, Peter Lawler came out on top with a blazing time of 43.257, two one thousanths faster than David Whitmore with 43.259 in his second race as a senior. Troy Hunt managed third with 43.352 and Steven Scoble, all the way from WA, fourth with 43.444.

In the final, Hunt edged out Brett Robinson by 0.29s in the tricky conditions. Pre-final and opening heat winner Scoble was 3rd ahead of Whitmore and Brendan Nelson.
