Heat 2 6th
Heat 3 7th
Pre-Final 5th
Final 3rd

Overall Result
1. Nick Cassidy 18 laps
2. Rex Edwards +3.164
3. Arie Hutton +4.871
4. Chris Cox +4.886
5. Levi Madsen-Prinn +5.021
6. Tim Vickers +5.059

Commenting on the event Arie said: "We tested on the Thursday before the event but experienced a continuation of the brake problems we have been having with our Junior chassis. On Friday I attended orientation day at my new school so we missed out on testing on the track as the rubber went down. We fitted a new brake caliper on Friday night and this was an improvement, however the dragging brake remained with us for the remainder of the event causing higher than ideal engine temperatures and, once the brakes were hot, poor exit speed from slow corners. The Final was exciting especially the last lap. Chris Cox had made a charge from the rear of the field and caught me with about 1 lap to go. Chris passed me at the final corner but once my brakes had released I was able to slipstream up to him and managed to regain 3rd place by 15 thousands of a second. I am looking forward to seeing the finish on TV. Congratulations to Nick on a strong performance all weekend."

Arie’s results at the Totalspan 2008 City of Sails event were:

Contested using the pre-determined grid system.
Heat 1 Grid 7 4th
Heat 2 Grid 1 4th
Heat 3 Grid 11 9th
Heat 4 Grid 5 3rd
Heat 5 Grid 4 3rd
Heat 6 Grid 8 3rd
Heat 7 Grid 6 2nd
Heat 8 Grid 2 5th

Overall Result
1. Daniel Kinsman 18 points
2. Rex Edwards 21
3. Levi Madsen-Prinn 23
4. Arie Hutton 24
5. Daniel Colville 30
6. Stan Tangaroa-Green 42

Commenting on the event Arie said; "With school already started for the year we decided not to practice on Friday. We weren’t too far off the pace on Saturday but after 3-4 laps of each of the 10 lap heats our braking issues returned. We rebuilt the caliper again on Saturday night and fitted a cooling duct for Sunday. This was a slight improvement but at the end of the last heat the brakes were smoking and the pads virtually worn away. We were a bit lucky to finish 4th overall. Congratulations to Daniel on the win. Obviously we have some work to do to sort out the brakes before the Nationals at Easter. If we can fix the problem we should be on the pace."

Arie’s next major event is the 2008 KartSport New Zealand National Sprint Championships, Blenheim, 21-23 March.
