AKA - General News Update

CIK SERIES MOVING FORWARD
The 2008 Australian CIK Championship is continuing to move forward with a lot of work going on to finalise the format of the championship and provide rewards to the karters in return for competing.

Further details will be announced over the coming weeks and the AKA looks forward to the sport entering a new era as CIK racing makes it’s return to Australian circuits during 2008.

125 RESTRICTOR PLATES AVAILABLE NOW
Following testing of the eligible 125cc engines throughout the past few months the AKA would like to advise all members that the restrictor plates for the appropriate engines are now available for purchase from their state office.

These restrictor plates are available to be fitted to the PRD Fireball, Parilla Leopard, Rotax Max and Junior Rotax Max.

MOJO TYRES IN FOR ROTAX
Effective as from March 1 all Rotax classes in Australia will move to the Mojo D2 tyre. These tyres will replace the Bridgestone YJC tyres currently used in the senior ranks and the MG Red tyres currently used in the Junior Rotax category.

HAVE YOU FINALISED YOUR PLANS FOR EASTER?
If you haven’t finalised your plans for Easter, Launceston is the place you need to be looking at. It is time to book your flight (or trip across on the Spirit of Tasmania), secure your accommodation and secure your spot in the 46th National Sprint kart Championships sponsored by Yamaha as entries close on February 29.

Places are available on the Spirit of Tasmania on day voyages between Melbourne and Devonport (100km from Launceston) on March 16/17 and returning Monday March 24. Sailing during the day is a cost effective way of travelling with Adults prices being less than $120 each way.

If you require any assistance with travel, accommodation or any other details please contact Ross Crack on 03 6333 2233.
