Double Win for Kart Mini and Guimaraes

RDD Motorsports, Kart Mini and Felipe Guimaraes had an excellent outing this past weekend at Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour. With the second round taking place at Moroso Motorsports Park, the team put in their best effort and claimed victories in Rotax Senior on both Saturday and Sunday’s main events.

Factory owner Mario Carvalho traveled with Guimaraes to compete on American soil. Having never used Rotax motors or testing on Mojo tires, Guimaraes and Carvalho were hoping to continue the unbelievable success that Kart Mini has had in Brazil. Team officials and chassis representatives were hoping to do the same at the Florida Winter Tour.

After qualifying pole for both events, Guimaraes went on to claim the pre-final and final victories to score a perfect weekend and solidify himself in the chase for the championship. Guimaraes did have plans to attend the first round in Florida but a visa problem kept him out of competition.

“The level of competition is very high at the FWT,” stated Guimaraes. “Here, all the drivers fight for every square inch of track and battle hard. I was glad I was able to come here and take the victory.”

Guimaraes and Carvalho will enjoy only a few weeks off before traveling to the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Early March. With a shot at the title, Guimaraes will look again to fight for the victory at the short and challenging circuit.
