"Great 2008" Speedway Season Starts Sunday

The long summer off season is over and the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club returns to the superb Nepean Motorsports complex this Sunday (February 24) for round 1 of the Great 2008 championship season.

The speedway karts have been building up numbers over the past few years and this Sunday’s Walkabout Lodge supported Champion of Champions meeting with record numbers expected is certainly shaping to be sensational start to the Great 2008 season.

Over 95 drivers have already signed up to race this year with at least 12 new drivers in both the junior and senior divisions showing how the speedway karts are booming in Sydney. Many of the speedway karting teams have lifted the bar in body design and presentation and this will certainly be on show this Sunday.

This “funday” Sunday, the regular speedway kart divisions (except for the Clubman Heavy which are on volunteer duties) will be highlighted in the Walkabout Lodge Champion of Champions meeting. Expect to see solid kart numbers in the Midgets, Rookies, Juniors, Clubman Light, KT Open Heavy & Light and the 
0-100/Sportsman ranks.

The NSWSKC race meetings provide a great family day out with mums, dads and the kids taking in the sensational speedway action. The speedway karts is the breeding ground of the speedway champions of the future. The Nepean Motorsport complex is situated on Rickards Road Castlereagh and practise starts at 10am with racing from 11am.
