Hodgskin and Long Claim Super Sprint 4s Round

press release

The second round of the ProKart Australia Super Sprint 4’s Series was held at Fairbairn Park Kart Raceway, near Canberra in the A.C.T, on Saturday (March 1) and it resulted in Jessica Hodgskin (Juniors) and Brendan Long (Seniors) taking out the winning spoils.

For Hodgskin it was back-to-back Super Sprint 4’s Series round wins in the Juniors, while for Long this was his maiden round victory for the year in the Seniors after he finished second behind Mitchell Hewitt in the opening round last month.

Once again Hodgskin battled fiercely throughout the race meeting with Kaylah Tenneson in the Juniors but it was the former that came good in the final to down Kyle Patterson and her younger brother Cameron Hodgskin. Up until the final it had been Tenneson that had dominated after she had qualified on pole position, won all three heat races and also the pre final, but struck dramas in the final and finished back in fifth place.

In the Seniors it was Brendan Long, who is in his first year of seniors since stepping up from Juniors that showed all his rivals a clean pair of heels from qualifying right through to the final. In the final it was Long that outpaced Tyler Hunt and Nathan Kuhlmann in second and third place respectively for the victory.
Class winners in the Seniors for the round were: Brendan Long (Lights), Rick Ward (Heavy), and Nathan Kuhlmann (Sportsman).

The third round of the ProKart Australia Super Sprint 4’s Series is to be held at Port Macquarie (Mid North Coast of NSW) on Saturday, April 19.
