The Florida Winter Tour (FWT) is officially over and Max Papis Racing with Fittipaldi never failed to impress by finishing 2nd in the Rotax Senior class championship with driver Fabio Orsolon and 3rd in the Rotax Mini Max class championship with driver Pietro Fittipaldi da Cruz. The team also won both pre-final and final races in the Rotax Masters class with team owner/driver Max Papis. The de Quesada family was also racing, with Carlos driving in the Rotax Masters class, and brothers, Nicolas and Michael driving in the Rotax Micro Max class.

On Saturday, the team was strong and consistent with Pietro Fittipaldi da Cruz finishing second in the pre-final and 3rd in the final event after suffering a carburetion issue that set him back. Fabio Orsolon was conservative, yet aggressive, and finished in the 5th position in both pre-final and final races. Max Papis dominated his class and won the pre-final and final races. The de Quesada brothers had strong runs making consistent improvements during the whole event and having their best race ever with Michael finishing in 7th and Nicolas in 13th. Carlos de Quesada also made big improvements and will be a contender for the podium soon.

Sunday was another great day for the team although Fabio ran into some trouble in the pre-final race when he was hit by another driver and had to start at the back of the pack in the final race. He drove hard to finish 12th in the final and clenched the second place of the Rotax Senior championship. Pietro showed constant improvement throughout his day with his persistency and will. He qualified 5th and finished 4th in the pre-final. He then moved up to 3rd in the final race and clenched the third position in the Rotax Mini Max championship. Max once again dominated the field and won both pre-final and final races.

Max Papis, team owner/driver commented on the weekend, "I am very proud of all on the team. There was a lot of pressure for the championship this weekend but everyone was really focused and pulled through. Being the first time we participate in such a competitive championship as the Rotax Florida Winter Tour, we made big improvements and we were in the hunt to win in every race, so I could not ask more to all the guys involved. All the drivers and crew showed the drive and passion that is needed to compete amongst the best. I personally had a lot of fun this weekend and I found a very professional and competitive field in Masters. The Birel chassis is very competitive and I really enjoyed taking them to the winner's circle! I want to once again thank all of our sponsors for making this great adventure possible, without their support it would be much harder to be out there battling for the championship, and we will work hard to make sure we can step up to the top of the podium by the end of the season."
