WKA Pole For Pigot

press release

FirstKart.com Junior pilot Spencer Pigot had another strong run at the World Karting Association Manufacturers Cup event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway last weekend. The SunTrust Junior Driver drove his Yellowfin powered First Karts to two victories and three top tens over the event weekend.

Pigot competed in four classes over the busy weekend and claimed his two victories in Yamaha Junior Supercan Lite and Yamaha Junior Supercan Heavy while claiming 11th and fourth place results in HPV Junior Lite and HPV Junior Heavy.

The action started for Pigot in Junior Supercan Lite as soon as the green flag flew for the start of the final. As Pigot entered the first corner, he was forced wide and through the grass after starting from the pole position and was quickly relegated down the running order. Completing the first lap in ninth position, it looked as if victory was out of sight for Pigot.

Determined as he was, Pigot began to progress forward picking off kart after kart throughout the event. In the final few circuits, Pigot was running with the leaders and made two bold moves to get by them both and take the checkers along with the fastest laptime of the event.

Pigot started the Supercan Heavy final right were he left from the day earlier as he took the lead and never looked back. Running fast and consistent race laps, Pigot pulled an early gap and drove away from his competitors as he dominated the middle part of the race. Pigot went onto claim his second victory of the weekend and looks to be a threat for both championships

“I had a great kart this weekend,” explained Pigot after the event. “I made a small mistake but managed to recover. I’d like to thank SunTrust, FirstKart.com, Yellowfin Performance Engines, Wayne Taylor, my tuner Tony Loniewski and my parents for making this all possible.”
