Rochford 29th In Euro Rotax Debut

Daniel Rochford made the cut to qualify for the Final at the opening round of the 2008 Euro Rotax MAX Challenge in France on the weekend. The Melbourne Intrepid driver then placed 29th in the wet race which was won by Kombikart gun, Mike Joossens.

The field was split into three groups for (wet track) qualifying and lap times suggest condition changes accounted for several seconds of varience between the groups. Once everything was merged, Rochford was ranked way down in 72nd (of 90 karts!) in the class, 4.469s off pole.

Strong heat results of 10, 11 & 11 placed Daniel 29th in the rankings. He was then 18th in the dry warm up but finished the wet pre-final a lap down and placed 27th.
