Sullivan Back With Firstkart.com

press release

First Kart North America, First Kart USA along with the FirstKart.com race team are pleased to announce the signing of rookie Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) pilot James Michael Sullivan. The Colorado Springs resident will join the three time defending East coast champion JICA team with the hopes to help continue their success.

Sullivan, who ran with the FirstKart.com squad in Cadet last year, will continue to utilize Marc Zartarian’s Hi-Rev Engineering power as he did at the end of last season in the Cadet class.

Sullivan had several strong runs throughout the 2007 racing season namely at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah and USA International Raceway in Shawano, Wisconsin. At these events James Michael was one of the quickest drivers on the track and progressed forward from his qualifying positions to battle wheel to wheel with the leaders before claiming one of the quickest lap times of the event on both occasions.

“James will be a perfect fit under our tent with our other JICA pilots,” stated FirstKart.com Team Principal Tony Ventresca. “The first year in JICA is a learning year for any rookie but with the experience of both Spencer Pigot and Miles Maroney, we feel that James Michael will be up to speed quickly.”

With the move to the JICA class, Sullivan will utilize FirstKart.com’s complete arrive and drive program as well as focus on the Stars of Karting Presented by IndyCar Series West division championship. With several tests and races already booked, Sullivan will be behind the wheel circuiting some of North America’s best karting facilities

James Michael Sullivan’s first on track racing action will be at the Stars of Karting West opener at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Sullivan will also be on track the week prior to the event testing with the FirstKart.com race team.
