Saturday Night Fever At Wollongong

press release

Large fields of both Junior and Senior classes invaded Wollongong City Raceway (South Coast of NSW) last Saturday night (March 29) for the second round of the Saturday Night Go Kart Series.

In total, four drivers in their respective classes dominated proceedings in the second round of the Saturday Night Series and these drivers were: Stefan Stanovic (Midget / Rookies), Cameron Moss (Juniors), Darryl Apps (Senior J), and Daniel Ball (TAG / Rotax, and Leopard).

Drivers that found the going a little tougher in the Saturday Night Series, Darren Solomon (Clubman) and Dean Starling (Shifter), both got the job done to take out wins in their respective class finals.

Earlier in the night, the Shifter class saw Mark Gallagher take pole position and Joe Chetcuti go on to take out all three heat races, but Starling got into gear and took out wins in both the pre final and final, which is where it matters most.

A second place behind Leigh Wright during the second heat race of the Clubman class action spoiled the perfect night for Solomon, who had won the two other heat races, pre final, and final.

All in all, it was yet another encouraging turn out for the Saturday Night Go Kart Series. The third round of the Saturday Night Series is to return to Wollongong City Raceway on Saturday Night, April 26.
