Karting's Female Gladiator Leads The Way

press release

20 year old Lismore track record holder, Abbey Kellie currently leads the Clubman Light division in the 5 Track Harrington Doyle Gladiators Series for Australian Sprint Karts.

On 20 April at Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club’s fast and winding Greer Park Raceway, Kellie and some 35 other visiting Kartsport Gladiators will clash with local Toowoomba kart drivers, including Brendan Nelson and James Greenwood, in Round 2 of this fantastic new series.

The Brunz Autos sponsored Kellie, who is intently focused on this year’s NSW State Championship coming up in Port Macquarie, is making the most of the rural regional Gladiators Series to get more seat time and competition miles up against other formidable A and B graded drivers.

With many club and local championships already under her belt in the last 7 years, Kellie definitively took the Gladiators’ Clubman Light Series lead from her fellow male and female competitors in Round 1 at Warwick last month.  Hoping to build on this tremendous start, Kellie will be pushing hard at the Helidon track from the onset, to keep accumulating valuable points and grab the Gladiator Series trophy & prize money.

With good seating, catering and trackside amenities for all of the family, spectators are encouraged to come and watch every part of the series action in each of 5 different age and weight Clubman Classes doing battle.

The Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club’s Greer Park Raceway is located at Snellings Road via Postman’s Ridge Road, just off the Warrego Highway, Helidon.  Practice is on Saturday 19 April with racing on Sunday 20 April 2008.
