Preview: Port Macquarie 6-Hour Enduro

press release

There is certainly going to be action aplenty at the Pacific Park International Kart Racing Circuit, near Port Macquarie (NSW North Coast), this weekend (April 19 – 20) with the running of both the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia Endurance Kart Championships and the Super Sprint 4’s Series rounds.

The 1.052km Pacific Park International Kart Racing Circuit is to host the opening round of the National Championship, and the latest rounds of the New South Wales and Queensland State Championships, along with the latest round of the Super Sprint 4’s Series over the course of the weekend.

Without a doubt the Port Macquarie 6 Hour will have significant importance to the aspirations of all the championship contenders, so the old saying of, to finish first you must finish, has never rang clearer, especially with so many championships up for grabs.

A field of over 25 endurance kart drivers, from both NSW and QLD states, are set to converge on the Pacific Park International Kart Racing Circuit and with forms teams such as the Wollongong City Raceway Jets, Horsepower Racing, Team Kaos Racing, KBC Racing and that is just scratching the surface in terms of the teams that can be expected to challenge at the pointy end of the field. With Endurance Kart racing there is no shortage of upset results, as with Endurance Kart racing anything can happen, and it usually does to use the famous words of legendary Formula 1 commentator Murray Walker.

The team that everyone will be looking to hunt down are last start winners, the Canberra 7 Hour earlier last month, Horsepower Racing and they are aiming to make it back-to-back round victories.

Apart from the Port Macquarie 6 Hour, on Saturday will be the fourth round of the Super Sprint 4’s Series for both Junior and Senior classes, and the racing that they display is certainly very close and had fought over a race format of three heats, a pre final, and final.

Action on Saturday will begin at 9am with the fourth round of the Super Sprint 4’s Series, and practice and qualifying for the ProKart Australia Endurance Kart Championship, and on the Sunday, the 6 Hour race is set to begin at 9.30am.

The Pacific Park International Kart Racing Circuit is located at 199 Pacific Parkway, Cowarra Forest, via the township of Wauchope.
