Ben Scott Returns For GVKC Round 2

press release

The prospect of rain during this Saturday’s second round of the GVKC Championship Series has Kart racers pondering their approach to this event. Drivers last raced in the rain at Numurkah Raceway in September 2006 and it takes driving skill to a whole new level , particularly when a bunch of hungry racers are competing for championship points.

This round will see the return of Ben Scott (below) to the series, after turning his back on a return to the footy field. Scott is the defending 2007 champion in Clubman Light class, backing up from his 2006 second place. Scott is keen to get his Solar City Tyres supported streetcommodore.com racing Arrow sprint kart back on track, as a prelude to also defending his 2007 GVKC Cup Clubman Light title on 4th May 2008.

This round will serve as a practice run for a lot of visiting drivers who plan to compete in the following weekend’s GVKC Cup.    Ben has no illusions that chasing the 2008 crown will be difficult after missing the first round. However, he hopes that the visiting karters from Melbourne, Wodonga, Rochester and Seymour clubs, will steal points away from the championship regulars, opening the door for him to charge for the title.

Racing starts from 11.30am at the Numurkah Raceway, located East of Numurkah on the Katamatite road. Spectator entry is free.
