Harrison's Carries Winning Form Into NSW Speedway Title

press release

After taking victory in the Australian Grand Prix last weekend, Anthony Harrison's next aim is to clinch the NSW Junior Speedway Kart Title that is to be held this Saturday night at down Moruya Speedway on the South Coast of NSW.

Harrison is very much looking forward to meeting up again with arch rival Kieran Towen who won last month's Australian Championship and also attempting to add to his Queensland and Victorian Titles that he has already won this season.

The win in the Australian Grand Prix at his home track of Gatton Speedway in QLD has built up the confidence of the 15-year-old, which took a beating after the disappointment of finishing in fourth place at the Australian Title.

Harrison went through the night at the Australian Grand Prix by not only taking out the win in the feature race but also all three of his heats. "It's always good to get back that winning feeling and it does wonders for the confidence levels, especially considering I was quite disappointed with my Australian Title result as I felt I was good enough for at least second place," Harrison explained. "Another pleasing aspect was the fact that I managed to beat the two Queensland drivers that finished ahead of me at the Australian Title, and now my main focus is the NSW Title this Saturday night."

Once again Harrison will meet up with Towen in the battle for NSW Title and having never visited Moruya Speedway previously it should be interesting to see who comes out on top at the end of the night. "Kieran and I are mates off the track but on it we want to beat one another as much as each other," he said. "I have proven that I have the pace to match it with Kieran, and I'm much looking forward to coming up against him once again this Saturday night."

Harrison is proudly supported in 2008 by T&D Transport, BP - Wacol, PM Lubricants, DKS Race Engines and Manwaring Transport, while special thanks must go to his parents, Tony and Dianne, Uncle Phillip, and John Aurisch for the setup assistance.
