Round 3 - Saturday Night Series @ Wollongong

Strong and competitive fields of drivers took to the track down at Wollongong City Raceway to contest for the third round of the Saturday Night Go Kart Series last Saturday Night (April 26).

Two drivers that dominated in their respective classes were Dalton Rowell (Clubman) and for the second time in a row Darryl Apps (Senior J). Both drivers managed to go through the night undefeated by taking pole position in qualifying, followed by wins in both of their two heat races, their pre final and also take home the win in the final.

Another driver to impress was youngster from the Midget / Rookie class, Stefan Stanovic, who managed to take a win and fourth place in his two heat races and also victory in the pre final, and his winning form didn’t stop there as he went on to take out the final in strong fashion.

In the TAG restricted class it was Andrew McCullick who showed everyone how it was done by taking out two second place finishers in his heat races and in the final he took out victory ahead of Mark Horsley and Michael Lia in second and third respectively.

Other class winners for the round included: Justin Smith (Juniors), Daniel Ball (TAG Light), Shane Tate (TAG Heavy), Shane Long (RESA) and Dom Marciano (Shifter).

The fourth round of the Saturday Night Go Kart Series will return to Wollongong City Raceway on Saturday Night, May 31.
