Rossi's Stars of Karting ICC Debut

press release

Genesis Racing pilot Scott Rossi scored a very strong result at the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Western division opener at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Competing in the ultra-competitive Intercontinental C division, Rossi claimed a pair of top ten results.

Battling with the country’s best, Rossi turned some very quick times throughout Friday’s test sessions. Proving that his Friday times were not a fluke, the CRG pilot qualified seventh in his first national level Intercontinental C (ICC) event.

Rossi would start all of his heat races from inside the fourth row as he would look to move forward and secure a solid start for both feature events. As any ICC rookie will tell you, battling with multi-time champions is very hard but Rossi was up for the task. After a few problems during the heat race standing starts, the Canadian managed to claim sixth, 15th and eighth place results respectively to start P11 for both finals.

Looking to move forward and claim two top ten results, Rossi began his charge towards the leaders in final one. After successfully getting off the line, Rossi turned fast and consistent race laps as he moved to P8 before the checkered flag flew. Feeling better and more comfortable with each and every passing session, Rossi moved a little more forward in final two to claim the sixth position.

“I love the competition,” explained Rossi in a recent phone interview. “Racing with the best ICC drivers in North America is awesome. I was really looking forward to competing in ICA as it has been a life long dream but ICC is very good as well. I am happy with my first national level results and am looking for more at the next event.”
