Cameron Motorsports Sign Miles Maroney

press release

Cameron Motorsports National Karting Team is proud to announce the signing of standout Pacific Coast Motorsports Atlantic/IndyCar junior dvelopment driver Miles Maroney, effectively immediately.

After a brief spell away, the 14-year-old from Topanga Canyon, California, will make his return to the Italian CRG marque at the upcoming Stars of Karting Mazda Race of the Americas. The East/West combined event will see the National #4 continue in JICA while joining forces with Cameron Motorsports senior tuner Mike Roth. Both are familiar with the CRG product line, and very excited about beginning their racing partnership.

“I’m really excited to be teaming up with Cameron Motorsports and returning to CRG,” Maroney reported from the paddock area at Laguna Seca where he met up with his new tuner last weekend during the Formula Atlantic/FBMW race event. “I can’t wait to work with Mike and get myself and CRG up front again.”

For his part, Roth is equally optimistic about the new partnership that will see action in both the East and West Divisions of Stars. “I’m so excited to work with Miles,” said Roth, a veteran tuner and driver development coach. “I have followed him since he moved up to JICA on a KRT kart and even more so last year when he was on a CRG. He’s always fast, just had some bad luck. I’m excited he’s back on Black and am looking forward to Newcastle!”

Maroney swept the Stars of Karting rounds at Moran Raceway last season as an independent entry and the wins carried him to the National #4. He is also a former Stars of Karting Cadet Champion, International Karting Federation Regional and Grand National Champion, World Karting Association Grand National Champion and Two-time California State Champion. After earning sixth in the Florida Winter Tour JICA Championship this season, Maroney has already scored three top-ten finishes in four Stars of Karting starts. Back in Black for Newcastle in two weeks, Maroney will be looking for more.
