Kaos Reigns At E/Creek 24-Hour

press release

For the third occasion in two years the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia 24 Hour Endurance Kart race that was held at Eastern Creek International Kart Raceway, near Blacktown NSW, over the June Long Weekend (June 7-8) was taken out by Team Kaos.

Team Kaos, consisting of drivers Brian Briton, Mikey Briton, Brooke Briton, Geoff Piekar, Bryce Kurtosis and youngster Daniel Baker, won the 24 hour race by a whopping 46 laps and never once laid a spanner on their kart throughout the race, which was a credit to the team’s preparation and a key to their success.

Brian Briton, team leader and driver for Team Kaos, said that it was a fantastic weekend for the entire team. “We certainly weren’t the fastest kart out there, but we were the most consistent, and that is what a 24 Hour race is all about,” said Briton.

“Full credit to our entire team, as it was a team effort, as everyone did their job, and it was by far our best 24 Hour win of the three. Our Kart performed faultlessly and all of the team drove smartly in each of their stints, and in the end we were rewarded with a very comfortable win, but one that we certainly deserved.”

Behind Team Kaos at the completion of the 24 Hour event were teams, DQ International Racing and Team OFIK 96, in second and third respectively.

Starting from pole position were the Canberra 7 Hour winners, Horsepower 777 Racing, and the team encounted engine problems during the race and therefore were unable to challenge for a spot on the podium.

A front running contender that was right behind Kaos Racing was the Adrenalin Rush Racing team who fought with the front running team throughout the event up until clutch and chassis problems emerged and they were forced to retire.

A total of 19 teams started in the 24 hour event, and 15 teams managed to finish the race.
Throughout the entire weekend there were no incidents and plenty of clean and close racing was enjoyed from all teams that competed.
