Above: If participants have too much fun at the Over 40s, blame these two fellows - Russell Grimson (left) and Gerry Hargans. "We came up with the Over 40's concept in April 1994 on a trip to race at Lismore" Grimson informed KartSportNews. "I put the idea to the committee of Coffs Harbour kart club the following Tuesday night and we formed a committee to run the event. The first one was run in August 1995 and Gerry was part of them until ill health prevented him being part of it. But he still comes every year for look and his wife Jan still works at event."

Above & Below: There are no presentations made at the race track after the event. Instead, a formal get-together is held at the local RSL where prizes and trophies are presented - and the stories get more and more exaggerated as the night wears on...
