Preview: Cooloola 6 Hour

press release

This weekend (June 28 - 29) the Cooloola Kart Track, near Gympie in Queensland, will host the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia ‘Cooloola 6 Hour’, which is also the fifth round of ProKart Australia Queensland Endurance Kart Championship.

Close to 15 teams from both New South Wales and Queensland, consisting of between two to three drivers, will converge to the 890 metre Cooloola circuit, and in this event it promises to be one of the most wide open rounds of the year.

Heading the line up of teams eager to fight it out for the victory honours include teams such as: DQ International Racing, Adrenalin Rush Racing from Queensland, while New South Wales teams, Wollongong City Raceway Jets and Kaos Racing are primed to take victory back to their home state.

Joining the ‘Cooloola 6 Hour’ is a three driver team entered from the Cooloola Kart Club itself, and there is no doubt that they are looking to turn their home track advantage to be a front running contender.

Current Queensland Championship leaders, A1 Racing, have unfortunately withdrawn from the remainder of the year, and this has now opened up the entire championship, so there is sure to be plenty of exciting action throughout the remainder of the year in the chase for the championship honours.

In Endurance Kart racing there is always going to be plenty of close and exciting racing throughout the weekend, and the ‘Cooloola 6 Hour’ promises to be no different, as there is non-stop action with drivers changes, re-fuelling, tyre changes, and so much more as Endurance Kart racing certainly can throw up plenty of curved balls from the drop of the green flag.

Teams will run in practice and the ‘Indy’ qualifying format from 9am on the Saturday, plus there are come and try sessions throughout Saturday.

The ‘Cooloola 6 Hour’ is set to commence at 9am. The Cooloola kart track is located on Runge Road, Gympie, Queensland.
