US schedule comes together for Bronson Butcher

press release

Bronson Butcher is looking forward to his motor racing expedition to the US as the schedule has firmed up this week.

The Holbrook karter flies out of Melbourne on August 12th, and will have the best part of 2 days to settle in before his first foray in the legend car at Havasu 95 Speedway, a 1/4 mile asphalt speedway 2hrs south of Las Vegas. There he will have the track to himself and learn the ropes with CRG Motorsport team owner TJ Clark. The car will then have a motor change in preparation for the first race meeting at "The Bullring", a 3/8 mile asphalt banked speedway and part of the huge Las Vegas Motor Speedway complex.

The following weekend, the 15 year old will be racing another legend car at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Los Angeles, this time for TEI Motorsport, who often field 3 or more cars in this category there. This speedway was opened in 1999 and is only 15 mile from downtown LA, has a 6500 seat grandstand, races every weekend, and has 11 million people within 1 hours drive.

Then it's back to Las Vegas for a double header - racing at the "Bullring" on the Friday and the Sat. nights with CRG Motorsport, and back to LA that Sunday morning to watch the NASCAR at the super speedway (Australian Marcus Ambrose will be racing), before flying back home.

"In between races I will be able to spend some time with TJ at the workshop" Bronson said "where I can do some work with the cars and learn about set up and other aspects of the operation. We also hope to visit other race operations in LA".
CRG Motorsport run several cars in different categories, including recently a Busch car in the Camping World West series at Infineon, driven by a 16 year old for the first time, and he came 11th out of 47. Australian V8 Supercar driver Paul Morris came 27th in the same race, which was a support race to the NASCAR that weekend, (which incidentally was Marcus Ambrose's debut in the top Sprint NASCAR category).

"I would like to thank my sponsors and supporters, including Kart Equip, HJM Race Engines, Rev Arena Karts, Churchill Transport, Doc Pearson, Back Straight Massage, Kev Mullarvey, Cabonne Honey, Morgiana Beef, Australian Outback Plants - USA, OGA Marketing and Jayfields Nursery." Bronson said "Also the support from the Holbrook community has been awesome. There is a couple of fundraisers in progress and people have been so generous."
