Australian Superkart Championship Points

from Mark Jones

In each of the three classes, one driver finished first or second in all four races, in each instance giving Darren Hossack, Brad Stebbing and Martin Latta handy buffers heading into the second round at Mallala Motor Sport Park near Adelaide.

Latta leads the 250 National class by the largest margin of any of the three classes, holding a 29 point lead over David Yuill with Frank Giglio just four points further back.

Stebbing leads the 125 Gearbox division by 23 points over Anthony Lappas and Jarrod Lethborg. It gets tight below these three, while Jason Smith is nine points further back there are another three drivers within six points

Hossack holds a 19 point buffer over Sam Zavaglia in the tightest and largest class, the outright 250 International. Gary Pegoraro is six points further back, just three points ahead of Carlo Chermaz with reigning champ Warren McIlveen just four point further adrift. Anton Stevens is another eight points behind with three drivers in the next ten points.

There are 85 points left in the championship, so all classes are far from secure.
