'Night Of Champions' At Kart Expo

press release

Kart Expo, America's largest kart racing industry trade show announces a new, one-night championship event for indoor karts. The event will be held on Saturday night, February 21, 2009 at 7PM. Entitled "Night Of Champions", the event is open to exhibitors at Kart Expo.

The event has exciting possibilities to become a major competition as exhibitors may nominate any driver that they choose. In other words, if an exhibitor can get a Danica Patrick or a Graham Rahal, well…they can put them in their team seat !   Already, Sodi Kart, the show’s title sponsor, has selected 2007 Indy 500 Rookie-Of-The-Year Phil Giebler to compete so Night Of Champions could shape up to be a stellar race event.

Night Of Champions will be held at the brand new Chicago Indoor Kart facility in Addison, Illinois which is located only ten-minutes from the Kart Expo’s host hotel The Renaissance Hotel & Convention Center in nearby Schaumburg. Organizer will provide free shuttle to and from the hotel. Racers can literally arrive and drive and don’t have to transport equipment across the country.

“Kart Expo is about kart racing”, said show director Darrell Sitarz, “so we decided to stage an event at a first class facility where our exhibitors can enjoy an evening of racing, great food and drink and an unexcelled motorsport atmosphere.”

The event winner will receive the new crystal bowl Night Of Champions trophy and a duplicate  will remain on display year-round at the track. Format for the event will be an elimination structure which will allow drivers multiple opportunities to compete on both of the race surfaces.

“We are very happy to have Kart Expo’s race event at our new track”, said Chicago Indoor Racing’s CEO Tony Stewart, “and think that this is an excellent idea. CIR is going to put on one heck of a show.”

Sitarz said, “ This is the place to be with sensibly priced food and beverages, great racing in front of your peers, and you can really party it up and the shuttle will take you back to the hotel. It’s time to find the best driver that you can and race to win.”
