Preview: NSW Endurance Kart Champ round 8, Wollongong

press release

The eighth round of the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia NSW Endurance Championship is to be played out at the Wollongong City Raceway circuit, near Wollongong (South Coast of NSW), this Saturday (September 20) with the running of the ‘Wollongong 6 Hour’.

A total of 20 plus teams from both New South Wales and Queensland states will take part in the latest round of the NSW Championship, so that is certainly going to produce a weekend of exciting endurance kart action around the 670 metre circuit.

Current leaders of the NSW Championship, Team Kaos, are no doubt aiming to consolidate on their lead in the championship point standings and they are currently ahead of fellow teams, Wollongong City Raceway Jets and Horsepower Racing.

Aside from the NSW Championship contenders, other leading teams are to consist of Wild Hogs Racing, LJ Hooker Jets, KBC Racing, and the hard charging Adrenalin Rush Karting team. It has been the latter team that is currently on a hot streak after winning the past two rounds of the Queensland Championship, and they are looking to continue their winning ways this weekend.

Endurance Karting is one of the most challenging and exciting forms of motorsport, as it is all about being consistent both on the circuit and in the pit stops, and working as a team, and all of those facets and so much more are the difference between winning or losing.

Saturday’s action will consist of practice and qualifying and the ‘Wollongong 6 Hour’ race and is set to begin at 9am.

The Wollongong City Raceway circuit is located on the corner of West Dapto Road and the Princes Highway at Kembla Grange on the South Coast of NSW.
