Finals Results - WA State Championships

Local drivers BD Soutar-Dawson and Lewis Sutherland have both captured a pair of State Championships at the 2008 Smarter Than Smoking Western Australian Championships over the weekend.

Soutar-Dawson, who was the defending champion in the highly competitive Clubman Light category, made it back-to-back titles after claiming the win ahead of Bryce Moore.

Soutar-Dawson then backed his victory in Clubman Light up by taking out the 125cc Leopard Light category ahead of former Australian Champion Brad Fitch. Queenslander Zac Schonberger, who recently relocated to Perth, finished in third spot.

Sutherland proved to be the star junior driver of the Championships by taking out both the Junior National Heavy and Junior Clubman categories.

Sutherland took was victorious in Junior National Heavy when he crossed the line ahead of Blake Stanton and Brendon Hope. Sutherland also proved too good for his fellow junior competitors on his way to victory in Junior Clubman ahead of Adam Morjoram and Jake Dudley.

Morjoram went one better in Junior National Light when he secured the Championship ahead of Blake Stanton and Brendon Hope.

In the battle for the Midgets crown, Sydney driver Joshua Buggy made his trip to the West a successful one. Buggy took full advantage of his experience in major events to win the class ahead of Victorian Jake Dixon and local driver Thomas Sparkes.
