Driving his DP Karts, Santa Cruz Finance Arrow Kart Brabham fought off the best Junior National Light drivers from all over the country to claim the victory in a thrilling race that saw many lead changes.  Matthew took the lead into the first corner on the last lap and managed to hold on to take the win and another coveted Blue Plate to add to his collection.

Matthew also raced in the Junior Clubman class and finished a very competitive fifth place after problems in qualifying and an accident in the first heat race. This meant he had to start 18th in the prefinal which resulted in a fine drive up to 9th then starting 9th in the final worked his way up to a 5th place at the end.

"After winning the Queensland State Title earlier in the year it was awesome to win again at the NSW State Titles, to win two State Titles in one year is very exciting.  It was a very hard race but my Kart was very consistent the whole race and I managed to get the lead starting the last lap and hold on.

The Junior Clubman race was a little frustrating as we had the speed to run with the leaders but because we were involved in a 1st lap accident in the first heat we were always starting too far back," Matthew said after the event.
