IKD Announces NEW Rotax Specific Web Site
With the enormous growth and interest in Rotax classes IKD is announcing a new web site specifically for Rotax.

This new site, www.rotax.com.au will be the total destination for Rotax racers in Australia.

Providing racing news, technical updates, Rankings and Racer rewards updates,  a portal for clubs to register and enter race results as well as a regular Rotax newsletter; this site will be the complete information store for all Rotax Racers.

“This new web site will better enable IKD to support and inform our Rotax customers” said Ian Black, Managing Director of IKD. “What we want to do is keep all Rotax racers informed of events and all Rotax pertinent information”

The new web site will go live 1st January 2009, so bookmark the site now in your web browser.

2009 Pro Tour
In 2009 IKD will introduce the Rotax Pro Tour. The Rotax Pro Tour will be four to six individual race meetings held at top circuits along the eastern sea board of Australia.

The Rotax Pro Tour will be designed to ‘lift the bar’ for kart race meetings in Australia to provide Rotax competitors with the highest level of competition.

The Pro Tour is NOT a series as such, rather a number of stand alone events that are linked by the National Rotax Rankings program.

The rankings for the Pro Tour events will be the second highest behind the Rotax Nationals, which means that the Pro Tour is the best option for earning rankings points.

Each Pro Tour round will offer Rotax Light, Rotax Heavy, Junior Rotax, Rotax Over 35 and Open (DD2 engines only).

The format of the meetings is still under development but it is envisaged that they will be two day events with practice and qualifying on Saturday and racing concluding Sunday afternoon. Friday practice may be offered at some events.

The first of the Rotax Pro Tour meetings will be held after April of 2009.

A regular Pro Tour newsletter will be sent to those karters that have joined the IKD mailing list, which can be joined on the IKD web site.

Regular updates will also be posted on the IKD web site so be sure to check www.internationalkarting.com.au and in 2009 the new Rotax web site at www.rotax.com.au for up to date information.

IKD would like to congratulate the following Rotax drivers for their recent State Title wins:
