press release

nathan morcomA third place finish in the final during the fourth and final round of the Premier State Cup Go Kart Series over the weekend at Eastern Creek International Karting Circuit, near Blacktown in NSW, was good enough for Nathan Morcom to seal the overall series honours in the Junior National Heavy class.

After placing fourth in both heat races and then the pre final, Morcom was able to move inside the Top 3 during the final and that was where the 16-year-old stayed until the fall of the chequered flag.

Over recent years the Premier State Cup Series has been on Morcom’s to win list and he was successfully able to achieve it this year by scoring three round wins and a third place from a total of four rounds.

“The majority of my focus this year has been on my Formula Ford activities, but to be honest I have also wanted to win as many major events in my final year of Go Karting, and now I can tick off the Premier State Cup Series as one of those achieved,” Morcom commented.

Throughout this year’s Premier State Cup Series Morcom has competed in not only the Junior National Heavy class, but also the Junior Clubman. In the Junior Clubman class Morcom managed to finish fourth overall in the point standings after finishing seventh at the weekend’s fourth and final round.
