Karters Support MS Fundraising

press release

Karters' dreams will come true as they team up with their V8 Supercar heroes & media personalities to race for glory and a worthy cause. Competitors ranging from 7 years of age through to senior ranks have come together to raise funds in support of MS Australia - ACT/NSW/VIC at Oran Park Raceway. Funds raised will be used to help care for people living with MS and fund research into a cure for the disease.

When karting mum of three, Benita Spicer, was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in early 2007, it was her eldest son James who came up with idea of a Kart Event to help raise awareness and funds for the MS Australia - ACT/NSW/VIC, in the hope of finding a cure for his mum.

Benita's family and the motorsport community have rallied behind her to help organise 'Karting for MS'.

On 3 December 2008, drivers will be competing in an MS Fundraising Team Relay at Oran Park Raceway. Relay teams will consist of nine members ranging from Midgets to V8 Supercar drivers & media personalities with the winning team completing the most laps in the shortest time.

Relay Racing will begin at 8.30am until approximately 1.00pm. A BBQ will follow with presentation of trophies, raffle prizes and announcement of the Top Fundraising Junior & Senior Karters.

Why not come along to cheer for your team, mingle with V8 Supercar personalities and be a part of the excitement. We would love to see you there!
