Although winners of the Final on Sunday, Australia narrowly missed out on the top podium position due to laps being combined from both 3-hour races on Saturday and Sunday putting Canada in the victory seat for the second year and Australia overall 2nd and USA overall 3rd.

Australia Team Kart #19 finished an exceptional 5th place. A fantastic result for Australia.

The 6-hour race was split into two separate 3-hour races, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. The team that completed the most distance when the laps were combined from both days would be the eventual winner.

A total of 81 drivers aged between 15 to 46 years of 14 different countries (Mexico, France, Mozambique, Australia, Cyprus, Spain, Argentina, Finland, the USA, Belgium, Canada, Portugal, South Africa and Uruguay) competed at Motorland the new circuit Alcaniz Spain.

Team Australia Kart #18 Ryan Sanderson, Adam Hughes and Grant Smith just missed out on first place in the final tally today and were given overall 2nd place.  During yesterdays 3-hour stint they broke a bolt on the rear spoiler so they had to come in to pit which put them one lap down in Saturday's final.  So after combining both days laps they only just missed out on first place giving the victory to Canada for the second year running.

It was an exciting day of karting for both Australian Teams with pitstops, driver changes and re-fueling, a spectacular event.

Australia Team Kart #18 dominated the lap times in the qualifying sessions  and throughout the event. Australia Team kart #19 drivers John Grother, Lee Mitchener and Brett Fortanier were also up front throughout the event and  finished an exceptional 5th place after the laps were combined, they were penalised 1-lap on Saturday for leaving the pit only 3-tenths of a second too early! They were on the pace all weekend  and we congratulate them on a fantastic result.
