Team Kaos Eyeing Eastern Creek 12-Hour Success

press release

After wrapping up the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia New South Wales (NSW) Endurance Kart Championship with one round to spare, Team Kaos heads into the 10th and final round at Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway this weekend (November 22 and 23) with only one aim and that is to come away with victory in the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’.

Up against 20 plus teams Team Kaos go into the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ are one of the raging favourites and they certainly have the form guide on their side. Earlier this year Team Kaos took out a dominant victory in the 24 Hour race at the Eastern Creek circuit and the team are famously renowned for being long distance Endurance Kart racing specialists. It has certainly been a very successful year for Team Kaos as they have managed to win not only the NSW Championship point score but the National Championship as well.

Team Kaos’ driver line-up for this weekend’s ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ is to be made up of three drivers Geoff Piekar, Bryce Kurtosis and talented youngster Daniel Baker. A driver pronged driver line up is not an option that many, if any, rival teams would be running as line-ups usually consist of between four to five drivers. Missing from the Team Kaos line-up is team manager Brian Briton for this weekend’s action as he will be away contesting the New Zealand Speedway Go Kart Championship.

Despite only fielding a three driver line-up it has not hindered the confidence of Team Kaos as they prepare to finish the NSW Championship in victorious fashion.

“We have had a wonderful year and there would be no better way to finish the year with a victory,” said Team Kaos manager Brian Briton.

“With the NSW Championship in the bag I have given the team the instructors to go out as hard as they want in order to chase victory. Throughout the year we have been driving for consistency in order to finish and win the championships but not this weekend.

“Daniel [Baker] is one of the most talented Go Karters in Australia and with his raw speed we are in good shape for victory. Daniel is going to be supported by both Geoff and Bryce and their experience makes our team line-up even more formidable.”

The triumphant return to ProKart Australia competition of Walkos Racing, who won the penultimate round of the NSW Championship - the Oran Park 7 Hour, is definitely going to be the biggest threat to Team Kaos.

“There is no doubt about it Walkos Racing is a very fast combination,” commented Briton.

“Although they [Walkos Racing] have more outright speed I am confident that our team has the wood on them over a 12 hour distance. It is certainly going to be an interesting battle and as everyone knows - Endurance Kart racing can throw up plenty of surprises and challenges.”

Endurance Karting is without a doubt one of the most exciting forms of Motorsport, as not only is there plenty of close racing but the action that goes on during the numerous pit stops are always intense, and sometimes races can be either won or lost in there.

Practice and qualifying will be held on Saturday from 6pm, while the ‘Eastern Creek 12 hour’ race is scheduled to start at 8.30pm on Saturday night and finish at 8.30am Sunday morning.
