Preview: Eastern Creek 12-Hour

press release

Quality - like cream - will always rise to the top … and Magura-backed James Theodore has now topped two championships, in karts and cars.

On 8-9 November, the Shropshire teenager sealed the Formula Renault BARC Winter Series at Rockingham with emphatic victories in both races. In the opening round at Croft the previous week, Theodore won the first race and finished 2nd in the following encounter to take the Championship lead.

This was on the Saturday. At 6am on Sunday, he set off for the Glan Y Gors kart circuit in North Wales, where he completed a perfect weekend by winning both his heats, and the final, to lift the club’s Senior Max Championship trophy.

“It was busy weekend” James said. “It was a small but very strong field (at GYG) and in the space of two weeks to win a kart and a car championship, that’s not bad is it?”

Trevor Howell of Venhill – the importers of Magura brake systems – said, “James’ success is further proof that the Magura 908.1 is an effective and essential tool with which to go and win, not just races, but championships. Now that he is moving into cars full time, we wish him all the best for what we believe will be, a very successful future”.
