Wild Hogs Racing Storm to Eastern Creek 12 Hour Victory

press release

It has been a result that the Wild Hogs Racing team have been threatening to achieve over the past few months and the Sydney based team saved one of their best performances to last when they took out the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ winning honours last weekend at Eastern Creek International Kart Raceway.

The ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’, which was also the 10th and final round of the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia NSW Endurance Kart Championship, had a total of 18 teams start the race and 16 of them ended up greeting the chequered flag and it was the Wild Hogs Racing team that managed to come out on top. The ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ victory adds to the Wild Hogs Racing team’s last success which was in the ‘Port Macquarie 6 Hour’ back in April this year.

Starting at 8.30pm on Saturday night and finishing at 8.30am on Sunday morning, the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ threw up plenty of challenges with a number of the different track conditions over the 12 hour period and some very chilly conditions greeted the teams too.

The Wild Hogs Racing team completed a total of 819 laps over the 12 Hour journey and ended up winning by a whole lap. Behind the winning team in second and third place on the podium were the Horsepower Racing team (818 laps) and Team Kaos (816).

Heading into the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ Team Kaos were one of the pre race favourites however they were unable to work their way into winning contention and had to be content with third place. Despite not finishing the year on a winning note Team Kaos had the last laugh as they had already wrapped up the NSW Championship at the previous round.

Behind the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ podium finishers in fourth and fifth place were the Adrenalin Rush Karting # 2 and Adrenalin Rush Karting # 1 teams.

Earlier in the event it was the Horsepower Racing team that put their kart on pole position for the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’ race.

Unfortunately due to other commitments ‘Oran Park 7 Hour’ winner’s, Walkos Racing, were unable to contest the ‘Eastern Creek 12 Hour’.

In the wash up of the 2008 NSW Championship Team Kaos took out the overall honours ahead of Horsepower Racing and the Wollongong City Raceway Jets, while the ‘B Grade’ NSW Championship saw victory go to Bell Pipes Racing and they managed to finish in front of P.A.W Racing and Two Dogs Racing
