Team Australia Hits The Track

Over night the Team Australia crew of Hays, De Maio, Pringle, Woolston and Sera have had their first Rotax taste of La Conca. One 20 minute and one 15 minute session was held for each competitor during the day.

The report from IKD’s Ian Black is that Team Australia looks very competitive. David Sera appears to be right on the pace at this early stage, trying to make amends for last year's technical infringement.

Tomorrow (tonight Australian time) brings two more practice sessions and then qualifying in the afternoon.

The team attended the welcome party last night. Part of the festivities was a tyre changing competition. Jace Lindstrom led the Australian charge with a time of 1 minute 38 seconds. Unfortunately this time was not sufficient for Jace to proceed to the finals. The final time was from American Wes Boswell at - wait for it - 37.84 seconds! This time was to remove and refit four tyres...
