King of Sydney - Round 1

The opening round of the King of Sydney Over 40s 'J Series was run at the Brian Farley Memorial meeting at Eastern Creek on the weekend.

Brian Sciberras won in the field of 17 Heavy Over 40s ‘J’. Brian did not have it all his own way. He was pushed all the way by Bernie Learson, Steve Petteras and Andrew Goodall with Iain Thornton finishing in fifth.

In a smaller field of 6 Super Heavys, Paul Rietclyk took the win . John Horsburgh, Craig Harradine & Maurice Piper took minor places.

There were plenty of prizes given away at the presentation. Tyres, Shirts, Hats and Gift Vouchers. Brian Sciberras & Paul Rietclyk thanked the Sponsors for their support (Kart 1, Yamaha, Dunlop Kartsports, North Shore Kart Club, Pamspix) and NSKC for a great day of racing.

It’s a clear sign of things to come, taking the sport back to its roots to show the rest of the people in the sport its all about having fun. NSKC wish Iain Thornton, the series promoter, and the series itself all the best as it travels to Oran Park & Lithgow and hopefully attracts even more Over 40 ‘J’ drivers.”

Next Round is 7th March at Oran Park.
