The Fires

Bad news continues to eminate from the appalling bushfires in Victoria with word that a number of members of the karting community have been directly impacted by the fires.

A multitude of organisations are co-ordinating fund raising efforts. News sources state that generous Australians have been pledging $1Million per hour.

Donations can be made to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal (http://www.redcross.org.au  - there is also a fund for the North Queensland floods), all the major banks, Australia Post and a swag of major retailers such as Myer, Bunnings and Coles. Various corporations and sporting clubs are making donations and conducting fund raising efforts. A national television telethon will be run on Channel 9 on Thursday night. All the profits from shopping at Coles supermarkets nationwide this Friday will be donated. Donations can also be made at the checkouts right now.
