Team5150R were proud to debut their new-for-2009 team at the first round of the ProKart Australian Endurance Kart Championships held at Sydney’s infamous Oran Park circuit on February 7.

With the tremendous support of Pennzoil, PPG, Timken, Permatex, The Bump Shop, Doc’s Kart Kraft (DKK), South Burnett Kart Hire, CBC Bearings Power Transmission, JP Bookkeeping and NTN; the team unveiled its new livery and apparel on Friday and worked towards establishing a strong setup for Saturday’s 7-hour race.

A strong race saw both team karts demonstrate exceptional reliability and after 7 hours of racing the team achieved 3rd and 5th in the Qld Championship results. 

Were it not for Kart #50 finding itself involved in someone else’s accident, after which 8 laps were lost making repairs;  Team5150R were a genuine contender for victory in their first event for 2009.

The team even took the opportunity to reinforce their solid performance with an on-track engineered ‘formation’ finish. 

Team5150R was proud to not only achieve a podium position in their State Series, but to collect the award for Best Presented team; a reflection of the work that’s been put in by all team members, in addition to the wonderful support provided by our sponsors.
