press release

Doyle’s Racing Kartsport is pleased to announce a further expansion of its Karting involvement in 2009, with the signing of Brisbane brothers Robert and Trevor Beetham to the Yatala based Team.

With the brothers’ years of experience in AKA Bitumen Sprint Kart and also Speedway Karting, they will bring a rich depth of knowledge and talent to the Harrington Doyle supported Kart Team.

Trevor, a 46yo Air Conditioning Commercial Sales Executive first started Karting in November 1976 at Mount Crosby Kart Track.  Over the ensuing years he competed in Reed, National, International, Clubman and Rotax classes, collecting many podium places and Titles along the way.  Among those was the 2003 Australian Speedway Kart Championship at Laang Victoria and the 1994, 1999, 2000 and 2005 Queensland Speedway Kart Championships.  In 2009 Trevor will compete in both Clubman Over 40’s and Clubman Heavy under the blue / green livery of Doyle’s Racing Kartsport.

Joining Trevor at his new Team will be young brother Robert Beetham.  The 33yo Building and Construction Contracts Manager started racing karts at the age of 14 years old in 1990.  During his 18 year involvement in Karting he has competed in bitumen (AKA) and speedway kart racing at Club, State and National Levels.  In addition to his podium finishes in the 2002 and 2006 Queensland Speedway Kart Titles, Robert finished as 1st C Grade Clubman Heavy Driver in the 2008 Queensland 5 Track Gladiator Series and 10th outright.

Being a long serving committee and active member of the Speedway Kart Club, he has organised several State and National Speedway Karting Title events.  Robert’s experience in promotions, event management and competition will be an invaluable resource to his new team.

“In a few short months since Rob has join the team, he has already helped leverage 2 new corporate partners and brought about some operational efficiencies that will allow our team to be even commercially stronger”, said Team Manager, Craig Doyle. “We look forward to a great season ahead with both Trevor and Robert being part of our expanded Karting presence in 2009”, said Doyle.
