Green CDI Units Available

REMO RACING NOTE TO ALL LEOPARD 125cc ENGINE OWNERS: The new Leopard Green CDI Units are now available.

(Restricted Leopard engine competitors can still use all three ignition units during a 12-month faze-out period, which ceases on January 1 2010.  The old green and red button analogue 4-pole ignition will continue to be eligible for a 12-month faze out period but will not be eligible for State and National Championships or Leopard Series events where it may be stated 'only key-start is allowed' in the Supplementary Regulations)

1. RESTRICTED 125 CLASS DRIVER
If you are a RESTRICTED 125 LEOPARD COMPETITIOR you have until the 1st January 2010 to comply. You may change over at any time during this period.

2. IF YOU HAVE A KEY START IGNITION
If you own a new DIGITAL KEY START IGNITION, you have until 1st of May 2009 to comply.

For State and National Championships, you can stay as you are with the old black CDI unit for all races until the 1st of May 2009, so you can still wait till this time. After the 1st of May 2009 it is compulsory for Leopard class competitors with a Key Start Ignition to have the GREEN CDI Rev Limiter to compete in Leopard Class.

The cost of the new GREEN CDI unit is $200.00 + gst + postage to and from Remo Racing.

However, if anyone wants to return their old black CDI unit in good working condition, I Remo Luciani, will buy your old unit back for $100.00, so that your changeover will be only $100.00 +gst.

Those of you who want to keep your old black CDI unit so you can compete in open class or certain TaG events which do not need rev-limiting may do so but will need to pay the full price of $200.00 +gst.

3. IF YOU HAVE A PUSH BUTTON IGNITION (Green & Red button)
If you have the OLD Green and Red push button type ignition - it is not eligible for State and National Championships or major Leopard-only events, but it is allowed at smaller club-day type meetings until 31st December 2009 (always check the supp-regs). If you wish to compete at any Major events then you will need to change-over to the new Digital-K Key Start Ignition.

The cost for the change-over from analogue to digital is $200.00 +10%gst

To be eligible for the change-over from the old green & red button to the new Digital-K Ignition YOU MUST FIRST COMPLY. You will need to download the application forms from www.leopardengine.com or click the following link:

Both forms need to be completed in FULL and returned to us with your payment included or it will be rejected.

4. ABOUT THE NEW GREEN CDI UNIT - AKA20L
From the 1st of May 2009, the only eligible ignition module to be used in the Leopard Class is a GREEN module marked with AKA20L. You will need to have a DIGITAL-K KEY START IGNITION for the new GREEN CDI unit to work.  The NEW GREEN CDI unit is DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY.

All old Green & Red push button ignitions are analogue and must be changed over by the 1st January 2010 or the new CDI unit will not work.

ALL NEW LEOPARD ENGINES PURCHASES WILL INCLUDE THE NEW GREEN CDI UNIT AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. 

NOTE: The price of the Leopard 125cc engine still remains the same at $2,995.00 and all new purchases will include the new CDI unit at no extra cost.
