Roberts Wins At PSC Opener

press release

Simon Roberts came away from the first round of the PSC in 1st place in the TaG 125 Heavy class. The Newcastle round was the first round of what looks like being a very competitive series of races.

After qualifying in 2nd behind current Leopard Heavy state champ Daniel Baker (Intrepid) and in front of another team Intrepid driver Peter Galvin, Simon looked to have his hands full. Bookended by the two Intrepids Simon and his new KT1 CRG had to take control and take control he did.

Simon went on to win all the races bar one and even in that race he managed to spoil the Intrepid one, two finish coming home fast to grab 2nd and nearly pull off first.

Simon had this to say: "The kart felt great all day from the moment we put it on the track. The KT1 is great to drive and we only made small changes during the day."

The next round is at Lithgow and Simon is hoping to do it all again. " I am looking forward to Lithgow but first I have the Nationals so one thing at a time. I have to thank CRG for all their help. I just hope I can win that elusive green plate up there. I am also looking for some extra help regarding funding for the Nats so hopefully my results will entice someone to help me out a bit."

In what was a great sign for the class was the mix of different chassis competing, we had 4 CRG's, 2 Intrepid's, 2 Arrows, 2 SQ karts, and 1 PCR also a mixed bag of engines 8 Leopards, 2 Cheetah's, 1 Fireball.
