Superkart Nationals To Go Ahead

press release

The Australian Superkart Championship in conjunction with Shannons Series events will proceed as planned.

The SKA Shannons Series Registration has thus far been of mixed success, but we are glass-half-full people after all.  In consideration of the daily bombardment of pending global meltdown, the gearbox registration level shows a resilience and good response with well in excess of twenty received and paid, along with a very positive vibe about the Championship.

Conversely the non-gearbox registration is zero which for reasons beyond our comprehension will undoubtedly bring joy and satisfaction to various factions in various places. Rumours and politics go well together, and such rumours abound as to whether SKA may abandon the NGB Nationals event.  No such decision has been taken, but it may be contemplated at our next SKA meeting due to an apparent lack of interest along with a prevailing boycott rumour regarding mirrors or some similar such idiocy, but SKA's attitude right now is that the event is on our calendar, and more information will be sought before such a decision to abandon could be taken.  If we should abandon such a meeting for good reason such as lack of entries, the AMRC would likely ensure that no such 'renegade' event was held elsewhere in replacement.

Shannons Series Registration is still open for those who want to register and we continue to urge members who are likely to race to do so, however the discount entry period has now passed.  Also it should be known that we do accept registration for the Superkart Championship from entrants who can only commit at this stage to one round, as we understand that people are watching their budgets.

On the subject of the various rumours about events or personnel, the fact is that should the need arise, SKA will make announcements at appropriate times.  SKA is a company and decisions are made by the collective Board of Directors.  Consequently, the company will make announcements about matters when appropriate to do so via the usual medium.   The company is stable and solvent, so the naysayers and rumourmongers have no place in proceedings.  There are certain matters that people may speculate about but are company business.  SKA's members will remain informed and updated.
