Deadly Dave Wins In America - Again!

David Sera has enjoyed yet another win whilst competing overseas. 'Deadly' took maximum points from the first leg of the final round of the Florida Winter tour at Ocala, but suffered a cruel DNF in the final of Day 2.

Sera was quick the moment he hit the track in practice. He qualified P2 and won the pre-final but after getting a roughen-up from the other front row starter in the final, Sera's radiator came loose. Luckily it held on and David raced to a clear win. "The stewards had the black flag waiting, but luckily enough it stayed on until the end" Sera wrote in his report on KartBook. "Not many of the locals were too impressed with my over the line celebrations (you didn't do The Smokin' Skid, did ya Dave??) so tomorrow should be interesting."

And interesting it was... Day 2 started perfectly with pole and a 5-second win in the pre-final. Sera raced out to a 4s lead in the final before his engine broke a con-rod and destroyed its internals.

"It was unfortunate timing i suppose. Anyway, I proved to everyone over here that the kart was consistently fast and now we'll be back at the track on Wednesday to do more testing for next week's event at the same circuit." Sera will race the TAG Senior class on MG Yellows.

Despite missing the second of the three FWT events, Sera was classfied 5th in the Senior Rotax class. Fabio Orsolon, who won everything when Sera was absent, won the series. Interestingly, former Indycar and Sportscar star Max Papis competed in Rotax Masters, finishing 8th.
