Egypt Gets 2009 Rotax World Final

The 2009 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Final will be held in Egypt. Ghibli Raceway, in the tourist resort town of Sharm el Shiekh, will host the event on December 5–12, 2009.

This will be the second time the World Final will have been held at the venue. The 2003 event was held on the brand new circuit in January 2004, Sydney's Adrian Estasy taking 3rd in the Senior Rotax final and this website's owner, Mark Wicks, finishing 8th and winning the Masters world title.

Hany Soufrakis, Chairman of Ghibli Raceway, announced the news at a press conference in Cairo. This will be a special event for celebration as it is the 10th Anniversary of the MAX Challenge.
