AKA Invites Expressions of Interest For CIK Series

AKA press release

Expressions of interest are being sought for the 2009 Australian CIK Karting Championship.

The series, currently scheduled to be held over four rounds, is aimed at providing Australia with an elite karting series once again with all drivers using an IAME KF2-specification 125cc engine.

The engines used in the series are to be purchased from the AKA and can either be purchased outright for $3,300 or paid off in four instalments of $825. These engines can be maintained by an engine builder of the driver’s choice and come complete minus a radiator.

The Championship is open to both factory and privateer entries. All entrants will be required to provide a history of their recent karting results and the manufacturer of their equipment.

The winner of the series, who will be crowned the 2009 Australian CIK Champion, will earn themselves a drive in a major CIK race meeting overseas.

As is the case in Europe, front brakes are optional and the tyres to be used in the Australian CIK Championship will be the Dunlop DDS specification.

Series Organiser Peter Galvin has invited interested parties to contact him on 0433 042 900 and he will be advising of further details over the coming weeks.
