"Carless Karters" Team News

press release

Ten drivers of Team “Carless Karters”  met at Oakleigh Go Kart Track for the March Club Day. It was one of the few Club day we have had without any wind or rain.

We had 13 Karts running over 7 categories for the night and it was extremely hectic in the pit are, with plenty of excitement and drama. I would like to thank Mike Donnison  for all his help on the night. (Our drivers kept him busy).

The best racing for the day was the Junior National heavy class where “Carless Karters “ had 4 Junior Drivers entered. Will and Michael had some close racing with Michael taking 1st, Will 3rd, Brad 5th in the first heat. The 2nd heat saw Will take 2nd , Michael 3rd ,  Brad 5th and Nick 7th. The final was interesting with, Michael 2nd Will 3rd, Brad 4th and Nick 9th  on the grid.  Michael took the lead for the first 4 laps and was then passed by Will who took the race win, Michael came in 4th, Nick 5th and Brad 6th. After a protest the final results saw Will take 1st for the day, Michael in 2nd, Nick 5th and Brad 6th.

Brothers  Micheal and Bradley Carless had some excitement in the Junior Clubman managing to take each other out in the 1st heat . Michael won the 2nd heat  and finished 3RD in the final. Due to the DNF in 1st heat , Brad  withdrew from the race for the evening.

Our Rookie driver Justin Carless had a frustrating weekend after being taken out in the 1st heat and plenty of help from the team, managed to get the Kart repaired. The 2nd heat and finals had plenty of extremely close racing and Justin did extremely well and managed to finish both races.

The Junior heavy drivers once again showed the more senior members of the team how it was done. The Senior drivers were not so lucky with 5 engines that failed on the night and plenty of DNFs, the best result was Shane in Lepoard Heavy who managed a 6th place in the 2nd heat.

Michael and Justin Carless both take Podium Position at Morwell Club day. - With the trailer still loaded from Saturday night club day at Oakleigh, 2 of our Junior Drivers headed to Morwell for their club day early Sunday Morning.

After a disappointing result at Oakleigh, Rookie Driver Justin Carless had a great day and finished the day with an overall 2nd, just a few points behind Dylan Slits who took 1st for the day. Michael Carless took the 3 wins from 3 in JNH (racing with a cracked Chassis from Saturday) and took 1st place for the day. Michael also chose to race his JNH Kart in JNL and came away the 2nd for the day.
