Bel-Ray Signs With DP Karts Racing

press release

In a major coup for sprint karting in Australia, DP Karts Racing Team is pleased to announce the signing of giant US oil company Bel-Ray Oils in a major sponsorship agreement and strategic karting alliance.

The team will now be known as DP Karts/Bel-Ray Racing and will be competing in over 40 events across Australia this year.

The relationship between ‘Premium Arrow Dealer’ DP Karts and Bel-Ray begins this weekend during this country’s most prestigious kart meeting – the Australian Sprint Kart Championships at Townsville, Queensland.

Sean Phillips, national manager for the Bel-Ray Company, says that DP Kart’s commitment to the development of young drivers in the sport was a huge part of the oil giant’s decision to sign on with the team.

“Craig (Holowell) spoke to me last year about his team of junior and rookies and we’ve come to an agreement to help the entire race team,” he says.

“The youth part of the karting market is a big consideration for Bel-Ray. It’s important that we have drivers at the front of the field and we are pleased to have joined into this ground breaking strategic alliance with DP Karts as we launch into the junior market.

“Also, being involved in the development of Australia’s future Formula 1 or V8 Supercar racing drivers is a major incentive for us.”

The stable of champion drivers at the newly named DP Karts/Bel-Ray Racing Team already includes drivers such as Matthew Brabham, Jake Dixon, Tim Holowell, Dominic Lostitch, Jordan Holowell and Jake Spencer who will all benefit immensely from the new sponsorship arrangement – each receiving on-track assistance, media training and the drivers will be included as part of Bel-Ray’s local advertising campaigns.

DP Karts Owner Craig Holowell is delighted with the signing of Bel-Ray to his team.

“I am really pleased that such a well know and Iconic brand in motorsport such as Bel-Ray has chosen us to partner for the 2009 season,” he said.

“We have been using Bel-Ray in our race engines since the start of the year and also did some development in the off season with them. It is without doubt the best oil we have used and is giving us very good results both on the dyno and at the track.”
