Wesble Chasing Australian Speedway Kart Title

press release

There is certainly no lacking of motivations for Gavin Wesble to clinch a break through Australian Speedway Kart Title this weekend (April 25 and 26) at Gatton Speedway in Queensland.

In past Australian Titles, Wesble, who competes in the premier Outlaws class, has done everything but taste the victory spoils after finishing second on two occasions and third on two other occasions as well and this has certainly made him even hungrier for success.

Wesble has form on his side heading into this year’s Australian Title as he is currently enjoying a 13 race meeting feature race winning streak and the current New South Wales and Queensland Title holder would love nothing more than to extend his streak to 14.

“I have done everything but win the Australian Title and although it has been quite frustrating I am not going to stop until I take out at least one of them [Australian Titles],” stated Wesble. “With this year’s Australian Title being at Gatton Speedway it has given me added confidence as it is a track that I enjoy and the last time I competed there was when I took out the Queensland Title and hopefully my good run there [at Gatton Speedway] can continue.”

Not only driven by the determination of past defeats in Australian Titles Wesble is this year wanting to win in the memory of his late father John who unexpectingly passed away in August of last year.

“My father was the biggest supporter of my racing and I would love nothing more than to win the Australian Title and be able to dedicate it to him,” said Wesble. “He and my Mum got me involved in Speedway when I was just a kid and an Australian Title was something that we both wanted and although I was unable to win one when he was alive I hope I can win one with him watching down on me.”

Wesble has gained my additional sponsorship from Rigweld Fabrications, which is based in his hometown of Branxton, to help his 2009 Australian Title bid. Special thanks must go out to his crew; Daniel Simone, Chris Fench, Mike Gibbs and the Rinkin family for all their support.
