TaG Restrictor Plates

The AKA has issued an addendum regarding Restrictor Plates in the TaG classes. The full addendum can be found on the AKA site karting.net.au HERE.



At the NKC meeting held 27th/28th /29th March, 2009, the following was approved for implementation from 1st May, 2009. However, during an NKC phone hook-up on 28th April, the date has been changed thus: "The original implementation date of the 1st May, 2009, for new restrictor plate sizes be revised to the 1st June, 2009."

32.06 AKA Restrictor Plates
Are compulsory and as determined by the AKA and subject to any future parity adjustments and as per the following AKA restrictor plate dimensions listed below.

The restrictor plate must be supplied by the AKA and must be fitted between the cylinder and exhaust header pipe or flange with a gasket on both sides of the restrictor plate and be located on all exhaust header studs and bolts. All exhaust gases must pass through the restrictor plate opening.
PRD Fireball 125 – Max x 24.50mm marked AKA F1
Parilla Leopard 125 – Max x 23.80mm marked AKA L2
Rotax Max 125 – Max x 24.50mm marked AKA SR2
Rotax Junior Max 125 – Max x 26.00mm marked AKA JR1
SQ Cheetah 125 – Max x 25.00mm marked AKA C1
Refer to AKA National and State Offices / websites and any issued addendums for current information.

It is compulsory that sealable nuts / bolts be fitted on exhaust studs for restrictor plate sealing. Minimum hole size 2mm.

New restrictor plates will only be available from the relevant State Secretaries.
“New size” restrictor plates will be issued to current competitors on presentation of their current deleted size restrictor plate.
