With the meeting being the final shootout before the inaugural AKA Australian Speedway Kart title (June 6,7 & 8) the action was certainly “red hot” right from the first heat races.

The Baines family, 2008 NSWSKC Champion & Club President Wayne Baines with wife Alana and young son Jake had a brilliant days racing ending up the day as joint winners of the Achievement Award. Wayne dominated the KT Open Heavy division winning all three heats, the feature and the round with young Jake equalling his dad in winning everything in the Rookies. Alana continued the family’s domination winning two heats, feature and the round in the KT Open Light’s. It was a Baines family domination. Joel Goff stopped Alana clean sweep after taking out the KT Lights opening heat race.

In the premier division, the Formula 100’s, Jonathan Bright took out all three heats, but he had his dad Rod in the field and with Jonathan’s DNF in the feature, Rod finished the day ahead of his son in second leaving Jonathan to claim third in the round results. In the feature Donald Stevens stayed out of trouble and took out a great win with his consistent results all day saw him winning the round.

It was son of a NSW speedcar great (Mark Brown) Kaidon Brown who broke Luke Sayer’s blitz in the Midgets with him winning the third heat. But it was Luke Sayre, with two heat victories as well as the feature and the round in what was a superb effort.

In the Junior’s the early heats saw the Briton girls Ashleigh and Nikki sharing the heats wins but from heat three Kyle Pollock dominated the division after winning heat three he continued with the feature and then the round wins.

Continuing the family battles, in the Clubman Heavy the Selmes brothers fought it out all day. Anthony took out the opening heat but it Daniel who took charge winning heats 2 and 3 and the round. The Feature race was won by Michael Gibbs with Anthony Selmes and James Camilleri following him home.
